How Do I Build An App If I can’t Code? Part 3
This is a continuation of a series on bring an app to life, from nothing to something. Read the last episode Part 2 on assessing your idea, Lil Nas X marketing genius and naming your company.
My next step was to bring that prototype to life, somehow. I had a few options.
- Learn to code, create an “MVP” OR build a no-code MVP.
- Find a technical co-founder to build it.
- Outsource development overseas.
- Hire a local/regional development shop to build it.
- Start a nontechnical product.
I’m going to break these down a little bit more.

Even if someone else is going to do the coding, you should spend a good week learning how to code. Why?
Imagine asking a professional chef to whip up world-class fettuccine alfredo.
You meet with the chef and hype them up about this new Italian restaurant concept. You show them the photo above and tell them to make your dish look just like it. They’re down. Let the work begin!
